You article about asking for money on the buses was interesting. In NYC, that is a regular occurrence as well, just on the subways. Music, dance, dramas, sob stories, medical issues, drug problems, selling candy, movies, etc... We get everything from sellers to Mariachi bands. But the reactions are quite the opposite from your article. We pretend to sleep, or put our headphones on from our mp3 players and put our heads down or something. It has even been made illegal to do these things on the train anymore, but it is still a daily occurrence. It was just interesting to note the differences between the Nicaraguan response and the New Yorkers response to these actions. Keep up the hard work!

Hope you had a lovely Christmas (San Juan del Sur, you say??) =) I was still in Spain for Christmas, but my sister and cousin came over and we traveled around a bit. Was quite divertido. And now I'm fiiinally home. for a week. It feels maravilloso! Back to Goshen in a couple of days for one more semester (!). I'll be doing my TESOL field experience, so we'll see how that goes. I think I will be working with high schoolers. May you have a blessed New year! besos, L
